Young girl critical after crash (Windsor)

A young girl suffered critical injuries when a car and a van collided at Windsor in Sydney’s north-west this afternoon.

An NRMA CareFlight doctor worked with ambulance paramedics to treat the girl who suffered head and arm injuries when the car in which she was a passenger and a van collided near the intersection of Richmond Road and George Street at Windsor just after 2.30pm.

Police blocked the road to allow the flying trauma team to land at the scene in support of ambulance, fire and police teams at the crash.

After stabilisation the girl was placed on one of NRMA CareFlight’s mobile intensive care modules and flown to the Westmead Childrens’ Hospital for further emergency treatment.

Traffic in the area was severely disrupted
