Boy suffers head injury when hit by car (Lethbridge Park)

A boy suffered multiple injuries when hit by a car at Lethbridge Park, in Sydney’s west, late this afternoon.

With assistance of police, NRMA CareFlight’s flying trauma team landed in a nearby park shortly after 5 pm to allow the crew doctor to work with ambulance officers and stabilise the boy.

The NRMA CareFlight doctor said the nine-year-old boy, from Lethbridge Park, suffered head injuries and a fractured leg when hit by the car on Luxford Road.

After stabilisation the boy was taken, under care of the doctor and the paramedics,by road ambulance to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition to undergo orthopaedic surgery.
